PURPOSE

The purpose of The Red Door is to offer its members and their guests great meals with both the finesse of high cuisine and the loving nourishment of home cooking.

The Red Door is a secret dining club. Secrecy ensures the high standards to which The Red Door reaches, and clarifies that The Red Door is neither a business nor a restaurant. Much of The Red Door’s menu is not available or is not feasible in restaurants. Unlike a restaurant, The Red Door serves food art with the added benefits of home-cooked attention and family style dining. The food is abundant.

THE CHEF

Hello — I am The Chef as well as your host at The Red Door. My culinary expertise is the result of my life-long passion for food, which I hope to share here. I coordinate all the events and handle the administration of membership. I provide the location and dinnerware for the parties, do all the shopping, cooking, setup, and cleaning, and I also join the party to dine with everyone.

MENU

Meals at The Red Door generally consist of four to six courses, or the equivalent if all the food is presented at once such as in a smörgåsbord. The Red Door offers an extensive variety of cuisines and dishes. See the menu. Most selections are available in Vegetarian form as well. The menu is ever-growing, so please revisit the website to peruse the most updated selection. The Red Door does not serve alcohol, but diners are invited to bring their own beverages. Brunch, as the one exception, does include mixed drinks.

THE SETTING

Dining Events are held at The Chef’s home. Courses are served at a leisurely pace, and the meal usually lasts four hours. Attire is informal, and diners may retreat to the couch or step outside as desired. Since this is a home setting, there is no wait staff. However, please communicate with The Chef if you need something.

COST

Tickets for one meal cost $50 per person. This includes any gratuity or corkage.
